
Sydney, Sept 7 – Nepali cricket sensation Sandeep Lamichhane made a match-winning debut in the Nepalese Premier League (NPL) Australia, steering his side to a nail-biting 7‑run victory in the tournament’s opening clash on Sunday.
Playing for the Heroes in the fourth season of the competition, hosted by the Nepalese Cricket Association Australia, Lamichhane delivered with both bat and ball against Rubi Homes Tilicho Titans. He struck a quickfire 29 runs off 21 balls, helping set a target of 145.
The Titans, chasing 145, were in contention until the final over, needing just 9 runs. Lamichhane’s composure proved decisive — he claimed a crucial wicket and orchestrated a run-out, sealing the win as the Titans were bowled out for 138.

Speaking after the match, Lamichhane praised the growing standard of community cricket in Sydney, noting the competitive spirit and enthusiasm among players and fans alike.The victory gives the Heroes early momentum in what promises to be a fiercely contested NPL season.
